Big Grin Eat yer heart out Barney Curly, your 4-horse coup trumped by DavidW! 18/1/2014
What's 4 winners, pah Icon_biggrin David got 6, plus a placer, from 10 named, on 18/1/14, which will now be known on GR as 'Sensational Saturday'!

Here's the relevant part of his thread (which is a year-round follow of one yard). Results given are SPs, many were available at bigger earlier prices.

RE: Following a Stable Season 2013/14
Please follow any advice I give with great caution as my form is awful at present !

The stable has 9 runners today going to three different tracks. In my years of involvement with the stable this is unique as I have never known runners at three meetings on the same day. To some extent this can be explained by the lack of racing opportunities over the last few weeks at local tracks ( wet weather) but I feel there must be an element of targeting particular races.

Ascot 1.50 PRIMA PORTA. I thought this horse needed further when it ran last time as she seemed to get outpaced and then ran on. So on the face of it 3 miles could suit well. The trainer has a different view. He feels the horse was feeling her knees running downhill last time and ran on again up hill. He is not certain she will get 3 miles. I am going to risk a small wager and advise a 1 point win bet.

Ascot 3.35 LANCETTO. The best earner in the yard this season and a very consistent horse. In this race he looks out of his class and I am sure the target will be some 3rd or 4th place prize money. It would be a major surprise if he won and his forecast SP reflects that.

Haydock 12.20 EXTREME IMPACT. This is a full brother to a Derby winner and on his day,in the mud, can produce surprising results. He has had a tendon injury and has been off the track for a very long time. He has had fantastic facilities for his break but became quite gross. I can see him getting tailed off early on and then running on like a train passing tired horses as this horse would win this race if it was 5 miles! Very hard to recommend a bet but he could just surprise. won 22/1

Haydock 3.15 WYCHWOODS BROOK. This is a real mudlark. He is up the weights for a recent win but is still 7lb out of the handicap. He is up several grades in this race and will have to improve hugely--but he just might. He is the reason for the long journey to Haydock and I am going to advise a very speculative 0.5 points E/W. won 16/1

Taunton 1.05 DEVILS DYKE. So far this horse has been disappointing and I cannot advise support until some improvement is shown. 3rd 4/1

Taunton 2.15 BUYWISE. An easy winner at 2 days ago and looked very well handicapped. Trainer has given him lots of entries for next week as well to try to get ahead of the handicapper. There is a big question mark about his recovery from his last run but he is a strong and gross horse who I think could well cope. 1 point win advised. won 5/4

Taunton 1.40 LIENOSUS. At one point this horse was going to be a star but he keeps running through hurdles and losing his chance in races. I think the obvious course is to put him over fences which he has schooled over well. One last chance for me over hurdles and I advise a 1 point win bet. won 9/1

Taunton 2.50 TIGER O'TOOLE. Off the track a long time and I think this is likely to be a pipe opener.

Taunton 3.25 TORNADO IN MILAN. This horse owes me a lot of money. I think he does not like fences. I am not going to back him at present. won 3/1

Just one word about another horse ZAMDY MAN in the 2.05 at Haydock. I own the unraced younger brother of this horse ( CLYNE 4yo) and I am getting excited because ZAMDY MAN has run away with an Ascot novice race and then followed that up with a listed race win. He has his work cut out today but keep your fingers crossed for me. won 7/2

Good luck

David

What a day for the stable. I have just been in touch with trainer and his wife and they are ecstatic!

In summary 9 runners,5 winners,a 3rd and two 4ths

PRIMA PORTA ran quite well but I think the trainer is right and she does not get 3 miles. Fences next I suspect. Minus 1 point.

LANCETTO was outclassed and was brought home in his own time.

EXTREME IMPACT ran brilliantly under a great ride from Conor and just got home at 22/1.Sorry I could not advise a bet.

WYCHWOODS BROOK also well ridden by Conor loved the mud and outstayed the stayers winning well at 16/1. Plus 9.6 points.

DEVILS DYKE finished a well beaten 3rd and I remain unconvinced. Up to the handicapper now !

LIENOSUS hurdled really well and it looked as if his schooling over fences had paid off. Despite his top weight he won easily and looked a better class than the opposition. Plus 9 points

BUYWISE won easily despite a 7lb penalty. He was backed from 3/1 to 5/4. He has entries everywhere next week as the trainer tries to get another win before his weight rises. Plus 1.3 points

TIGER O'TOOLE was having a pipe opener

TORNADO IN MILAN finally delivered a good performance and he could go on from here. He won easily.I am sorry could not advise a bet.

Cumulative profit now 36.6 points

Finally did you see ZAMDY MAN who won a top race at Haydock beating a horse that cost £450,000. His younger brother is wrapped up warm at the stable in my colours ! Fingers tightly crossed !
